About Svadhyaya
Svadhyaya is a daily study companion for India’s schools of thought. Each morning you get one teaching: the original words, a plain-English explanation, a question to sit with, and a place to ask about it.
Why it exists
India has argued about the biggest questions for a very long time, across schools that disagreed sharply with each other. Most of that reaches people today as a single line in a reel or a two-hour discourse. Svadhyaya sits in between: small enough for a morning, and steady enough that it adds up.
How we treat the traditions
- Each school is explained on its own terms. We describe what a tradition teaches; we don’t tell you which one is right.
- No school is ranked above another. There’s no “basic” and no “advanced”.
- Where schools disagree, you’ll see both sides.
- We stick to the texts. Every verse comes from the source, and Mitra points you to the exact verse it’s drawing on.
What we won’t do
- Show ads.
- Make you feel guilty. Miss a day and you lose nothing.
- Read, sell or train anything on your journal. It’s yours.
- Charge for the Bhagavad Gita. All of it stays free.
Who’s behind it
I’m Harsh. I’m building Svadhyaya because I wanted it to exist: a way to actually study these traditions a little every day, instead of collecting quotes and never going further.
